The early cylinder heads can be identified by the following:
The rocker cover is secured by 3 domed nuts along the centreline of the rocker cover.
The later cylinder head can be identified by the following:
The rocker cover is secured by stepped bolts around the outside edge of the rocker cover.
The late cylinder head can also be supplied valved and sprung .
